Every year we produce 2 fashion collections for womenswear as well as our own original and versatile 'IN PRINT' collections from UK design studios.
We have a catalogue of over 200 items including silks, satins, organza and georgette - all available from stock at our warehouse in The HayBarn, Henley-on-Thames.

About Us
M. Makower & Co. Ltd started as silk merchants in the City of London (Bread Street) in 1862. Moritz Makower had arrived in London only a few months before with plenty of energy and good contacts in Lyons, France. In 1899 Makower became first UK merchants to import silk from Japan. Today we are still a merchanting company, still produce our own silk prints and are still family owned. The current MD is great great grandaughter of Moritz Makower. We only sell to wholesale distributors and retail shops, not direct to the public. Our distibution is predominantly in the UK and Eire but we also have distributors in Europe, Scandinavia and Australasia. |
